David Corcoran: 67, Des Plaines, Illinois. Hospital chaplain and former priest, married, father of three adopted Korean children. Sentence: 6 months in prison, $1000 fine.

Mary Lou Benson: 56, Brainerd, Minnesota. Homemaker, married, mother of four, sister of Martha, aunt of Rachel. Sentence: 6 months in prison.

Josh Raisler Cohn: 24, Portland, Oregon. Social and environmental justice activist. Sentence: 6 months in prison, $1000 fine--in custody.  


UPDATE:  Josh is finally out of transit and at his favorite destination, Sheriden Oregon.


Russell De Young
: 54, Newport News, Virginia. NASA senior research scientist, married, father of two.
Sentence: 6 months in prison, $1000 fine.

John Ewers: 66, Dayton, Ohio. Retired manager at NCR Corporation, Habitat for Humanity volunteer, married, father of four. Sentence: 6 months in prison, $1000 fine.

Jack Gilroy: 65, Endwell, New York. High school teacher, married, father of four.  Sentence: 6 months in prison, $500 fine-- in custody.


UPDATE:  Jack is finally out of transit and at his final destination,  Allenwood, PA.


Clare Hanrahan: 53, Asheville, North Carolina. Freelance writer/journalist, gardener, mother of one. Sentence: 6 months in prison, $500 fine.

Martha Hayward: 56, Negaunee, Michigan. Middle school teacher, married, mother of four (including Rachel). Sentence: 3 years probation, $3,000 fine.

Rachel Louise Hayward: 19, Negaunee, Michigan. Student at Kalamazoo College, majoring in biology and Spanish, daughter of Martha. Sentence: 6 months in prison.

Dorothy M. Hennessey: 88, Dubuque, Iowa. Dubuque Franciscan, peace worker, sister of Gwen. Sentence: 6 months in prison.

Gwen Hennessey: 68, Dubuque, Iowa. Dubuque Franciscan, peace worker, sister of Dorothy. Sentence: 6 months in prison.

Rita Hohenshell: 76, Des Moines, Iowa. Retired, mother of four, grandmother of five. Sentence: 3 months in prison.

Bill Houston: 72, Yellow Springs, Ohio. Retired professor, father of two, husband of Hazel. Sentence: 6 months in prison, $1000 fine.

John Alfred Hunt Jr.: 33, Boone, North Carolina. Community educator and activist. Sentence: 6 months in prison, $500 fine.


UPDATE:
  Jon Hunt is currently in solitary confinement, after refusing to work in the prison for reasons of conscience.  From his letter of 8/13; "i got put in the hole a week ago...it's not too bad, though i do miss fresh air, plants and sun/moonshine.   we are in the cell 23 hours a day, with one hour rec in a cage.  they took away my visiting privileges last thursday...  next they are taking my phone access - which now is only one call per month anyway. then goes commissary, except for stamps. finally, they will take my mattress, but only during the day...  i can't seal up my mail, unless it is to congress, pres, or attorneys."  Please be sure to write Jon and send him love and light from the outside!


Steve Jacobs: 46, Columbia, Missouri. Member of the St. Francis Catholic Worker, veteran and folksinger. Sentence: 12 months in prison.

Rebecca Kanner: 43, Ann Arbor, Michigan. Environmental educator, UAW member. Sentence: 6 months in prison, $500 fine.

Joel Kilgour: 24, Duluth, Minnesota. Baker in cooperative bakery, member of Loaves and Fishes Catholic Worker. Sentence: 1 month in prison.


UPDATE:  Joel Kilgour was released on 8/17/01 after serving his 1 month sentence.  Thank you for your witness, Joel!


Richard John Kinane: 51, Boulder, Colorado. Teacher and contemplative psychotherapist. Sentence: 6 months, $500 fine.

Elizabeth Anne McKenzie: 71, St. Paul, Minnesota. Retired teacher, Sister of St. Joseph. Sentence: 6 months in prison.

Karl Meyer: 63, Nashville, Tennessee. Member of Nashville Greenland Community, activist with Catholic Worker movement for 44 years. Sentence: 6 months in prison-- in custody.

 

UPDATE:  Karl Meyer is in the Atlanta, GA federal prison. This will be his last transfer before arriving at his final destination: the Manchester, KY federal prison.

 

Lois Putzier: 69, Tucson, Arizona. Union organizer, married. Sentence: 6 months in prison

Eric Robison: 21, Spokane, Washington. Social justice activist. Sentence: 6 months in prison, $500 fine.

Miriam Spencer: 76, Bellevue, Washington. Member of Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace, actively retired. Sentence: 6 months in prison.

Kathryn Temple: 28, Asheville, North Carolina. Artist, writer, feminist. Sentence: 2 years probation, $500 fine.

Hazel Tulecke: 77, Yellow Springs, Ohio. Retired French teacher, Peace Brigades International accompaniment activist, mother of four, wife of Bill. Sentence: 3 months in prison.

Mary Alice Vaughan: 68, White Bear Lake, Minnesota. Retired elementary school teacher, former Sister of St. Joseph of Peace. Sentence: 6 months in prison, $150 fine.
